Face-to-Face Meeting

Thursday 25th November

14:00 – Welcome and Lunch (tapas restaurant close to Cajal Institute)

15:30-17:30 – Meeting Day 1 (Cajal Institute Conference Room):

15:30 – Opening interventions: José Luis Trejo, President of Spanish Brain Council, and Roland Pochet (Belgium Brain Council), Director of the Share4Brain Erasmus+ project.

15:40 – Intervention by a representative of brain patients (confirmed with the Spanish Parkinson Federation).
Topics: situation of brain patients at present in Spain + good practices of patients care in the organization

16:00 – Intervention by a policy maker representative of the local Health system: Mercedes Montenegro, director of the Centre of Cognitive Decline of the Madrid City Hall, TBC.
Topics: situation of brain health in the local health system.

16:20 – Questions and Discussion with both speakers

16:30 – Intervention by a Spanish Brain Council representative: Julio Albisua, President of the Spanish Society of Neurosurgery.
Topics: Spanish Brain Health Plan

16:40 – Intervention by a scientist from the Cajal Institute: María López de Ceballos, expert in research on brain diseases and treatments.
Topics: update of brain research at the Cajal Institute

17:00 – Intervention by Fréderic Destrebecq, Executive Director of the European Brain Council, TBC.
Topics: Situation of brain diseases and care in Europe

17:30 – Free time up to dinner

19:30 – Dinner and meeting. Tapas restaurant at Madrid downtown, TBD

 

Friday 26th November

09:00 – 13:00 – Meeting Day 2 (Cajal Institute):

09:00 – Opening interventions

09:10 – Visit to Cajal Institute (Cajal Legacy, Research installations)

10:00 – Conference by a scientist from the Spanish Brain Council, involved in research with brain patients: Dr. Pascual Sánchez Juan, neurologist and scientific director from the Alzheimer’s Centre Reina Sofia-CIEN Foundation, Madrid, Spain.
Topics: Update of recent results of research

10:30 – Conference by a young student from the High Spanish Council of Scientific Investigation, involved in research with brain patients, CBM, CSIC, Madrid.
Topics: Update of recent results of research

11:00 – Other issues

12:30 – Conclusions and End of Meeting

13:00 – Lunch (restaurant close to Cajal Institute, TBD)

14:30 – Departure of participants
