Share4Brain Project Meeting in Madrid

During the 25th and 26th of November 2021, the #Share4Brain Meeting was held at the Cajal Institute (CSIC), Madrid. Brain health and brain diseases were the topics of the meeting with the participation of clinical experts and researchers, along with patient associations.

The Meeting started with the Opening intervention by José Luis Trejo, President of Spanish Brain Council, and by Roland Pochet (Belgium Brain Council), Director of the Share4Brain Erasmus+ project. Fréderic Destrebecq, Executive Director of the European Brain Council, presented the Situation of brain diseases and care in Europe, followed by the presentation of Situation of prevention of brain health in the local Health system by the General Director of Public Health, Quality and Innovation of the Spanish Health Ministry, Pilar Aparicio.

The other interventions, related to brain health and brain diseases as well, were presented by clinical practitioners and neuroscientists from different Spanish institutions, covering a wide spectrum of diseases, with a great burden on society.

Members of Share 4 Brain came from Italy, Greece, Serbia, and Belgium, and they enjoyed the sessions, vividly discussed the different topics, and they had enough time to network with each other during their stay. Both the selection of speakers and the social agenda was greatly appreciated by the participants.
